Auto-Reloading Iframe and Link Preview Script

I am currently developing some tools that will help you to implement the wIMG webshots easily and efficiently in your site.

  • The Auto-Reloading Iframe Mode
The Auto-Reloading Iframe Mode makes the webshot show as a small HTML page instead of an actual PNG image.

The reason for this is that an image cannot reload itself when its embedded on a page. But an iframe can. So if you load the webshot as an iframe instead of an image, whenever a pic isnt ready yet, it will keep reloading and showing queue progress until the pic appears and then it will stop reloading.

I guess maybe you could have done that by simply loading the basic wIMG PNG image in an <iframe> tag instead of a <img> tag, that might be fine for some, but this might cause a problem for some because: you cannot put a link on an iframe like you can on an image! But the Auto-Reloading Iframe Mode solves that by listening to 2 GET variables called "link" and "target" which you can use to set the link on the pic exactly the way you want it.

  • The Link Preview Script
The Link Preview Script is a javascript script that im working on that will allow anyone to easily and quickly implement the wIMG webshots in a very cool and convenient way with no programming skills whatsoever.

Basically it will just be a short script that you need to put anywhere on your page and that will cause some or all of the links on the page to show screenshots of themselves in thoughts bubbles when you pass your mouse over them.

You can see an example of my work in progress here: http://wimg.ca/test. Just pass your mouse over some of the links to see the results. The script is still unfinished. im hoping to finish it this month.

The Auto-Reloading Iframe and the Link Preview Script are now finished building and you can learn all about how they work and how to use them in the wIMG manual.

you can see them in action at http://globolister.com/ or http://atsameip.com/

I have now started building the next and last step (for now) of the creation of wIMG. The Unsigned wIMG system.

They concocted a genuinely non-blocking, in a split second stacking method for incorporating their gadget in a page, utilizing an iframe. For some web engineers, their 'dynamic async iframe' approach was new. Also, it's great. Twofold wonderful. For reasons unknown, this procedure has not gotten the consideration it merits. I trust this blog entry dissertation help uk can help spread the word.
